Former first lady Melania Trump is launching a new collection of non-fungible tokens called “The 1776 Collection” to commemorate Independence Day. The collection consists of six digital collectibles featuring iconic U.S. landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore, and the Liberty Bell. Each NFT includes a patriotic-themed music track and represents a facet of American history and ideals.
The NFTs will be minted on the Solana blockchain, which is known for its eco-friendly proof-of-stake protocol. The collection will be available for purchase starting on June 29 through USA Memorabilia, with each item priced at $50.
A portion of the proceeds from the sales will go toward Fostering the Future, an initiative under Melania Trump’s Be Best program. Fostering the Future aims to provide educational opportunities and scholarships to children in the foster care community, particularly focusing on computer science scholarships for those aging out of the system.
