Former First Lady Melania Trump recently reckoned that there is a conspiracy behind the assassination attempt on her husband, former President Donald Trump. She said “there is definitely more to this story” via Mediaite.
It has been noted that in a rare video posted to social media Tuesday morning, the former First Lady expressed skepticism about the incident and questioned why Thomas Matthew Crooks, the 20-year-old identified by law enforcement as the shooter was not arrested prior to Trump’s speech.
“I can’t help but wonder: Why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech?” she asked. “There is definitely more to this story. And we need to uncover the truth.”
Melania is not the only member of the Trump family who appears to believe there was a larger plot surrounding the shooting. Both of Donald Trump’s sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump floated the idea that Democrats were behind the attack.
“I said that the Democrats would stop at absolutely nothing,” Eric Trump told Maria Bartiromo in late July on Fox News. “I’ve said on this show before I wouldn’t be surprised if they tried something even worse, alluding to exactly what happened, and I was right.”
“They’re trying to jail their political opponents,” Donald Trump Jr. told Megyn Kelly at the Republican National Convention. “They’re now trying to kill him.”
The video is one of several Melania Trump videos that she has released ahead of publishing her memoir on Oct. 8. The former First Lady has been speaking out more in recent weeks ahead of the book’s release. On the day after the assassination attempt against her husband, she released a statement calling for national unity.
“America, the fabric of our gentle nation is tattered,” she wrote. “But our courage and common sense must ascend and bring us back together as one.”
