As of 2024, WWE is undergoing significant changes, not only with the departure of Kevin Dunn but also with alterations to the commentary team structure, marking a shift in the way fans experience the main roster television.

Reports from PW Insider have indicated that WWE is revamping its commentary team setup once again. The notable change is the move towards adopting two-man teams exclusively for each main roster show, a departure from the previous multi-person commentary configurations.

The buzz within WWE circles suggests that this new approach will be implemented at the onset of the new year, signaling a fresh dynamic in how the commentary teams contribute to the narrative during the wrestling broadcasts. This adjustment is expected to bring a more streamlined and focused commentary experience for the audience.

A noteworthy consequence of this shift is the end of Michael Cole’s time on SmackDown, a change that took effect last month. The specific details regarding Michael Cole’s future role within WWE remain uncertain, but it appears that he may not be part of the on-screen commentary moving forward. Speculations abound that he might transition into a full-time off-screen position, but concrete details on his future endeavors with the company are yet to be unveiled.

The word making the rounds in WWE is that starting in the new year, the announce teams will all consist of two men booths.

It was also noted, “That means that Michael Cole’s time on Smackdown ended last month.” Will have to see what happens with the company’s commentary team set-up now.

With these modifications, Corey Graves and Kevin Patrick are speculated to take the reins as the exclusive commentary team for the blue brand. The dynamics of this two-man booth system will undoubtedly bring a new flavor to the commentary landscape, and fans are eager to witness how the storytelling in the ring will be shaped with this revised approach.
