O.J. Simpson offered some legal advice to Donald Trump after hearing about the former president’s indictment related to the handling of classified documents. In a Twitter video, Simpson began by mentioning Trump’s indictment before sharing advice he received from renowned lawyers such as Alan Dershowitz and the late Johnnie Cochran, who had represented him in the past.
Simpson emphasized that all these legal experts had stressed the importance of not discussing the case publicly or giving interviews about it. He mentioned that his own legal team threatened to quit if he disregarded their advice. While it is unclear whether Simpson was aware of the recent developments in Trump’s legal situation at the time of the video, he suggested that Trump should consider suing his lawyers for not properly advising him to remain silent.
Trump has been known to frequently post about his legal troubles on his social media platform, Truth Social. He confirmed that he had been summoned to appear in a Miami court following the news of his indictment and also disclosed that two of his lawyers had resigned.
Having experienced the legal system extensively, Simpson was famously acquitted of the murder charges in the 1994 trial involving his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ronald Goldman. However, he was later found liable for their deaths in a civil trial. In 2008, he was convicted on charges of robbery and kidnapping but was granted parole in 2017. Currently, he resides in Florida.
Hello, Twitter world,” Simpson said in his signature Twitter greeting on Friday. Before jumping into sports talk, Simpson mentioned Trump’s indictment.
“I’m going to share some advice that I got from some of the greatest legal minds of our generation, of my lifetime,” he said, then running through notable lawyers who have represented him in the past including Alan Dershowitz and the late Johnnie Cochran.
“The one thing they all told me and stressed to me: do not talk about the case publicly. Do not do interviews about the case. The Bakers threatened to quit if I did that.
My point is I don’t know if Donald’s lawyers are stressing this to him. If not, they should be fired and he should sue them,
