Possible reason why Undertaker vs AJ Styles will take place at Wrestlemania

The Undertaker has not competed in a match since Extreme Rules last year. He teamed up with Roman Reigns in a winning effort against Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon.

Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio provided an explanation as to why The Undertaker vs AJ Styles will be taking place at Wrestlemania. For him, it boils down to Styles being a heel, him not being hurt at all by losing to Taker, and the fact that WWE would obviously prefer to have Undertaker wrestle “one of their best guys” to ensure a good match.

He went on to say that most people in general who lose to Undertaker aren’t hurt for it, and AJ Styles certainly will not be due to the way he has been booked so far. He added that the match is simply a way for Undertaker to be on the card.

It is likely Taker will make his appearance after WWE Super Showdown in order to start the feud with Styles as AJ is on the shelf due to a separated shoulder injury.
