Pro Wrestler Does Nazi Salute During Match

It has been revealed that at a recent NJPW event, a star of the organization appeared to make the Nazi salute, which caused uproar.

The incident happened at the NJPW and CMLL joint concert, CMLL Fantastica Mania 2024, which was hosted at the Edio Arena in Osaka, Japan.

That particular occasion happened before a deadly four-way bout between Douki, Taiji Ishimori, and “Bone Soldier Jr.” Ishimori appeared to make the gesture in question before to the start of the contest.

It is imperative to acknowledge that disparities in social norms and cultural practices occur throughout global locations. In many cultures, something that is considered improper or offensive may not have the same meaning.

In Japan, professional wrestling contexts can occasionally be different from those in the West, and behaviors that appear offensive in one setting may not be intended to be offensive in another.

It’s unclear if Ishimori intended for his motion to be made or if it was just accidental. But the event has spurred conversations on cultural sensitivity and how important it is to recognize and value different points of view.

Ultimately, while this incident has generated controversy, it highlights the need for sensitivity and awareness of cultural differences, especially in the global landscape of professional wrestling where performers from various backgrounds come together to entertain audiences worldwide.
