Mercedes Mone remains optimistic about her return to WWE. Formerly known as Sasha Banks in WWE, Mercedes Mone departed from the wrestling organization in May 2022, leaving during an episode of WWE Raw alongside Naomi. At the time of their departure, Mone and Naomi held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
During an interview with Evan T Mack on Kick Rocks, Mone discussed her departure from WWE. However, a segment of the interview, referred to as the “Mack Cut,” revealed a statement omitted from the original broadcast. Mone expressed:
“I know I’m going to be back there one day. It’s not over. I have a lot of unfinished business in wrestling in a lot of places.”
While Naomi made her return to WWE at the 2024 Royal Rumble, Mone has been absent from the wrestling scene since May 21, following an ankle injury sustained during a match against Willow Nightingale at NJPW STRONG Resurgence 2023.
Recent reports suggest that Mone is set to make her debut for AEW at AEW Dynamite Big Business on March 13.
