TBS To Cancel AEW Dynamite For WWE Raw?

James Andrew Miller said on the Sports Illustrated Media podcast that he knows there is interest in WWE programming from the WBD (Warner Bros. Discovery) side. He also speculates the idea of a broadcaster moving WWE Raw to a different night if it made sense. WBD currently air AEW Dynamite on TBS and AEW Rampage on TNT.

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin, a WWE Hall of Famer, recently gave his thoughts on the main event of WrestleMania 39 between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Austin expressed that he was curious about how WWE would execute the finish of the match.

The former wrestler was hoping that Reigns and Rhodes would have a match that lasted at least 30 minutes, and he was pleased that it went on for 34 minutes. Despite many fans being shocked by the outcome, with Rhodes’ shoulders to the mat, Austin was impressed with the booking and even congratulated those involved in putting it together.

According to Austin, the match was a classic, and he wouldn’t have changed a thing. In fact, he texted some people involved in the match, sending a one-word text, “Magnificent.”

“It was a classic,” Austin said. “I loved it, and I wouldn’t have changed a thing. I texted a couple people who were involved, and I sent a one-word text: ‘Magnificent'”

During the interview, Austin also confirmed that he had talks with WWE about wrestling at WrestleMania 39. After his impromptu match at WrestleMania 38, he was interested in wrestling again but would need everything to be perfect to consider lacing up his boots again.

Despite being in great shape, Austin admitted that he would need to be in “off-the-charts” shape to compete at WrestleMania. Unfortunately, the production schedule of his new show, ‘Stone Cold Takes on America,’ prevented him from committing fully to the training regimen required to compete.

Due to technical issues, the show’s production was extended, and Austin couldn’t commit to the necessary training schedule while driving an RV all over the country. He concluded that there was no way he would be ready to compete at WrestleMania 39.

“Sure enough, there were technical issues before we finished. I was supposed to finish a month before we did. There’s no way, with the schedule I was doing—driving an RV all over God’s creation, doing all I was doing—that I would be ready.”
