Donald Trump has more coming for him as a new report from the House Democrats confirms that the former president took money from international governments, businesses and monarchs. It turns out that the money that has been reported is just of two years. This money was received by his businesses.
Mediaite reports that Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) appeared on Morning Joe Friday morning and talked about the money received by Donald Trump’s businesses. He also noted that this money is from four of Trump’s businesses. Trump has over 500 businesses, so the money would be more and there’s still a lot to unearthen for the House Democrats.
Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released a 155-page report. The report alleges that he recieved money from countries including China, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. Raskin talked about it and said, “The founders of our Constitution were terrified that presidents or other federal officials or members of Congress would sell out the American national interests simply by receiving money from foreign governments and doing their bidding. And Donald Trump has fulfilled the worst fears and nightmares of the founders.”
He added, “$7.8 million that we were able to document in receipts from foreign nations — China and Saudi Arabia being the two leading countries —just scratched the surface of what is certainly much broader money coming in because it was only for a two-year period out of his four-year presidency. It related only to four of Trump’s more than 500 businesses.”
Jamie Raskin isn’t the only one talking about it, as Democrats are trying to find out the total amount of money taken by Donald Trump and his businesses. It would be shocking if anything comes up that may hinder his path to being the next president of the United States. While no one can estimate the amount, one thing is sure and that’s the fact that Trump has a lot to be answerable to in the coming days.
