Donald Trump’s past has come to haunt him. The former president has cases against him in different states of the country which include a business fraud trial in New York, and other indictment cases across the country. Trump has received backlash for his Jan. 6 insurrection, and there are people in Michigan who oppose the former president’s name on the ballot.
The activists’ Michigan lawsuit has targeted Donald Trump and it’s clear that they don’t want his name on the ballot. Trump’s attorneys have written to the Michigan court and asked them to direct Michigan Secretary of State that she cannot, and does not have the authority to ban Donald Trump from the state ballot in the 2024 Presidential race. It’s worth noting that Michigan isn’t the only state where Trump faces opposition.
According to The Epoch Times, Trump’s attorneys have stated that the former president has enough votes in the state, and he is absolutely famous. The attempt to take him off the ballot will be an attempt to deny Michigan voters the opportunity to express their choice by voting for him.
Despite President Trump’s tremendous popularity, there are people who want to deny Michigan voters the opportunity to express their choice by voting for him. To accomplish this, they want the Secretary of State to violate her duties and exercise powers she does not have to keep President Trump’s name off of the ballot. And they want to use this Court as a vehicle to do it.

Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson wrote an opinion piece in The Washington Post on September 13 where she stated that whether President Trump is eligible to run for the 2024 race is a decision to be made by the courts and not the secretary of state.
Will the activists be able to halt Donald Trump’s attempt to become the President in 2024?
Donald Trump has opposition from people across the States, but Trump is trying everything in his capacity to hold the highest post. He is trying to appease masses with his speeches and even making false claims to get people’s attention. The resistance from people and different activists hasn’t detered him from his goal.
Notably, Trump cannot say if everything will go according to his plan, but things can surely change for him in due course of time. They can be for and against him depending on the judgement in the indictment cases and the business trial in the state of New York. It would be interesting to see if Trump does get his wish in Michigan and other states where he faces opposition.
