Justin Mohn, 32, was arrested at Fort Indiantown Gap, a National Guard Training Center located about 100 miles away. The motive for his travel to this area remains unclear. During the arrest, he was charged with murder, possession of an instrument of crime, and abuse of corpse. His father, a retired civil engineer with the Army Corps of Engineers, was a federal employee for 20 years.
In a disturbing 14-1/2 minute YouTube video posted by Justin Mohn, he displayed what he claimed to be his father’s severed head, delivered a rant against the federal government, and called for the execution of federal workers. He declared himself the acting U.S. president, ordered the killing of federal employees, and demanded the seizure of federal buildings, putting bounties on high-ranking government officials.
The video, taken down by YouTube after about six hours, showcased Mohn’s deep dissatisfaction with the federal government, particularly the U.S. Department of Education. He had filed multiple lawsuits against the U.S. Department of Education secretary and the U.S. Department of Education, claiming grievances related to student loans. The court dismissed all these suits, and his most recent legal action sought $10 million.
Despite Mohn’s portrayal of himself as a musician and author with a positive mission, the shocking events surrounding his arrest and the gruesome video have cast him in a different light. Authorities are investigating the case while Mohn faces serious charges related to the alleged murder of his father.
