According to Mediate, in response to his recent indictment, former President Donald Trump has called for his trial to be moved from Washington, D.C., which he referred to as a “high crime embarrassment,” to a supposedly “impartial venue” in the neighboring state of West Virginia. Trump made his plea in a post on Truth Social, a platform he joined after being banned from major social media networks.
In his post, Trump expressed his disdain for the current situation, characterizing the case as a “Fake” one orchestrated by President Joe Biden and the Special Counsel Jack Smith, whom he referred to as “Deranged.” He argued that getting a fair trial in Washington, D.C. would be impossible due to the city’s purportedly overwhelming anti-Trump sentiment, claiming that over 95% of the population there is against him. He went on to criticize the capital city’s current state, stating that it is no longer a symbol of greatness for the nation and the world.
The latest Fake “case” brought by Crooked Joe Biden & Deranged Jack Smith will hopefully be moved to an impartial Venue, such as the politically unbiased nearby State of West Virginia! IMPOSSIBLE to get a fair trial in Washington, D.C., which is over 95% anti-Trump, & for which I have called for a Federal TAKEOVER in order to bring our Capital back to Greatness. It is now a high crime embarrassment to our Nation and, indeed, the World. This Indictment is all about Election Interference!!!
Trump’s indictment on four felony counts, including conspiracy to defraud the United States and conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, stems from the ongoing investigation led by Special Counsel Jack Smith into Trump’s actions to overturn the results of the 2020 election. The former president has consistently denied any wrongdoing and has been vocal in his criticisms of the investigation and those involved in pursuing the charges against him.
In addition to his post, Trump also shared video clips from Fox News host Jesse Watters and Newsmax host Greg Kelly, both of whom vehemently criticized the indictment. Trump’s assertion that the “Radical Left wants to Criminalize Free Speech” reflects his belief that the charges against him are politically motivated and an attack on his right to express his views.
As the legal proceedings unfold, Trump’s call for a change of venue to a location he considers more impartial adds another layer of complexity to the case. Whether or not his request will be granted remains to be seen, and the potential implications of the trial’s location on the outcome and public perception are subjects of ongoing debate and speculation.
