WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has the final say in anything and everything that goes on in the company, for better or worse. Vince McMahon also sabotaged Jon Moxley’s matches.
Vince McMahon has been the head of the company since he took control of the organization in 1982. McMahon saw various changes in his company over the last few decades as well. All through that, he continued to adapt to the changing times. However, many fans now feel that he is out of touch and simply has no idea what is good for a WWE Superstar.
The WWE Chairman is larger than life in many ways and he also has his own peculiarities. Former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. recently spoke on the latest episode of the Wrestling with Freddie podcast, where he talked about how it was like working with WWE Hall Of Famer Kane. He revealed that Vince McMahon did not want Kane to say the word ‘destroyed.’
“I remember, I came in there [Gorilla], and I don’t remember the promo. This was, you know, over ten years ago but there was the word ‘destroyed’. He [Vince McMahon] reads the word destroyed and he stops and he looks at me.
He’s like pissed off at me like I’ve done something, not wrong, but offensive. I go ‘What?’ and he shouts, he goes ‘Kane would never say destroyed. He would say obliterate!’ There’s this long pause, right? You gotta remember the way my brain works, I’m not a reactionary dude and I’m comfortable with silence, so I don’t mind it.”
WWE have released Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Lana, Ruby Riott, Santana Garrett, and Buddy Murphy. The reason cited was part of budget cuts, and Strowman was being paid $1.2 million per year according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The former WWE Universal Champion signed a new contract in October 2019, so the budget cut regarding Strowman is the WWE’s biggest saving financially from all of the talent cuts in the last year plus during the pandemic. Braun Strowman was fired by WWE for a very surprising reason as well.
