Former WWE CEO Vince McMahon’s name has been involved in controversy due to the various lawsuits filed against him, as many victims have come forward over the years. This includes Rita Chatterton, who has now made a rare appearance at an event show.
In 1992, former WWE referee Rita Chatterton made allegations of sexual abuse against Vince McMahon. After Chatterton’s allegations attracted fresh public attention in 2022, the case was brought back to light in November 2022 when McMahon’s counsel received a letter from Chatterton requesting $11.75 million in compensation for the claimed attack. In the end, Vince McMahon and Rita Chatterton reached a multi-million dollar settlement last year; however, the precise sum remained undisclosed.
After a long hiatus, Velveteen Dream returned to the ring during a Dynasty event in New York. Not only that, but Chatterton was a special guest of the Dynasty and kept the time for a match throughout the occasion. As Patrick Clark, he won the main event match after issuing an open challenge.
It’s worth noting that Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart had also apologized to Rita Chatterton for not believing her back in 1992 over the Vince McMahon allegations.
It was certainly a surprise to see Chatterton back in a pro wrestling venue and it is to be seen if she will make more appearances in the future.
