2024 Men’s Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes originally planned to headline WrestleMania 40 against Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. However, WWE has seemingly replaced him with The Rock following his huge return last Friday on SmackDown. WWE has now edited Rhodes out from a segment on the blue brand.
The latest WWE SmackDown episode concluded with uncertainty as The Rock confronted Roman Reigns. Cody Rhodes introduced the Hollywood megastar into the scene, seemingly relinquishing his WrestleMania 40 title shot and met with negative reaction from the fans.
Many fans noticed just how sad and dejected Cody Rhodes looked during the segment, especially when he was making his way out to the back after The Rock came out.
In an interesting turn of things, WWE has now re-uploaded the segment but conveniently cut out the part where Cody Rhodes was looking dejected while leaving the ring. Naturally, quite a few fans noticed what WWE was trying to do as well.
Fans also rallied for The Rock to give Cody Rhodes his WrestleMania 40 spot back as well. Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania 40 direction has also been revealed. We will have to wait and see how WrestleMania 40 will turn out, considering so many changes took place.
