WWE Do Not Want To Sign Top AEW Champion

Hook is the current FTW Champion, a title that his father made famous. He is also having a good time in AEW. It has been reported that WWE does not want to tamper with AEW contracts. They also know how to play the contract game.

A recent report came out that said WWE higher-ups are very interested in Hook. This report explicitly named Triple H and Shawn Michaels as having interest in signing Taz’s son to a WWE deal.

It was noted by Better Wrestling Experience that ‘The Game’ wants to sign the 24-year-old Hook, as does WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels, likely for obvious reasons such as his look and connection with fans, and his second generation roots.

Hook’s father, AEW commentator Taz, also reportedly wants his son in WWE, likely for obvious reasons as well such as exposure and experience, among others.

It has been noted that while Hook’s AEW contract status/terms have not been confirmed, it was speculated that he is the “easiest catch” for WWE right now, and that he could be the first of many to leave for WWE.

Ringside News reported that they reached out to confirm this story about WWE’s interest in Hook. A tenured member of the WWE team confirmed to us that Hook is under AEW contract, and his name has not come up one time in any conversation.

“Hook is under contract to AEW, and his name has never come up, not even one time in any conversations. Any reports of ‘interest in Hook’ are fake news.”

Hook remains undefeated in AEW after working 33 singles and tag team/multi-man matches. He made his pro wrestling debut on the December 10, 2021 edition of AEW Rampage with a submission win over Fuego Del Sol.
