Vince McMahon is quite unpredictable in his approach. He recently announced his retirement suddenly which the fans did not see it coming. It turns out he had fired the former WWE star Boogeyman, only to rehire him few hours later. Former WWE star Renee Dupree recently shared the details of the whole incident.
Vince McMahon had rehired Boogeyman the same day
Boogeyman still remains to be one of the scariest stars of WWE. While many fans find the worm-eating star to be gross, many also appreciates the gimmick. Meanwhile, Dupree, who wrestled for WWE at the same time as Boogeyman, talked about the aforementioned incident.
John Laurinaitis, who served as the WWE’s Head of Talent Relations at the time, had the power to fire stars if they were no longer needed. However, as the situation with Boogey proved, the former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon still had the right to alter the decision and that had happened.
Speaking on his “Cafe de Rene” podcast, he revealed what happened next after John Laurinaitis fired the former Tough Enough contestant. Here is what he said:
“Vince loved Boogey because of his body,” Dupree said. “Boogey is a crazy bodybuilder guy, but Johnny hated him because he didn’t know how to wrestle. He always had it out for Boogey. So, Johnny thought he had enough power to be able to fire Boogey. It was like nine o’clock in the morning. As soon as Vince found out that Boogey was fired, at three o’clock in the afternoon he got his job back with a raise.”
Boogeyman has been making appearances on WWE shows from time to time. His last appearance came on the Raw Legends Night special
