WWE Quietly Let Go Ruthless Aggression Star

Jimmy Wang Yang was one of the original stars in WWE during the Ruthless Aggression Era and more. Yang first signed with WWE back in 2001 after the closure of WCW but got released just a year later. He returned in September 2003 where he had a run with Ryan Sakoda and Tajiri as Kyo Dai but was then released in 2005. He had one more run from May 2006 until he got released back in April 2010.

According to a report by PWInsider, Jimmy Yang has left the company after a short run as a producer in WWE.

Jimmy Wang Yang has produced matches and segments for Monday Night RAW and Friday Night Smackdown, which includes Apollo Crews vs. Damian Priest from the November 29 episode of WWE Raw, R-Truth vs. Reggie from WWE Main Event, Street Profits vs. AJ Styles & Omos from the November 22 episode of WWE Raw, and Rick Boogs vs. Angel Garza from the November 26 episode of WWE SmackDown.

WWE have released Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Lana, Ruby Riott, Santana Garrett, and Buddy Murphy. The reason cited was part of budget cuts, and Strowman was being paid $1.2 million per year according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The former WWE Universal Champion signed a new contract in October 2019, so the budget cut regarding Strowman is the WWE’s biggest saving financially from all of the talent cuts in the last year plus during the pandemic. Braun Strowman was fired by WWE for a very surprising reason as well.

Yang just tweeted in response to the story, “I don’t particularly appreciate seeing this narrative saying that I quit. It takes A LOT for me to quit anything. Almost a month ago, @WWE chose not to move forward with me being a producer, and I was perfectly fine with their decision. #idontthinkyouseenthelastofme.” Will Yang be back? We’ll have to wait and see.
