The news of Wyatt’s passing away was earlier shared by Triple H on Twitter after he got a call from Rotunda’s father, Mike Rotunda (IRS in WWE). Wyatt had been dealing with health issues earlier this year. He was expected to compete at WrestleMania 39 in April against Bobby Lashley. However, the plan was scrapped due to “physical issues.”
Reports stated that he was cleared for return but that WWE was being careful about his health. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp also shared on Twitter that Rotunda had COVID earlier this year, which exacerbated a heart issue.
Wyatt’s sudden passing has shocked the entire pro wrestling world with tributes pouring in for the beloved Superstar. Last year, Wyatt returned to the company at WWE Extreme Rules on Oct. 8, 2022 and got a massive ovation from the crowd. In his first feud after return, he would work with LA Knight. Knight was trying to find himself on the main roster at this time. Wyatt defeated Knight in his first televised match since returning in a Mountain Dew Pitch Black match at WWE Royal Rumble on Jan. 28.
