The rivalry between Samoa Joe and the WWE Champion has become incredibly personal, with the Destroyer calling out the family of AJ Styles multiple times.
On the latest episode of Smackdown Live, Samoa Joe attacked AJ Styles during an interview, choking him out in front of a packed Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Joe’s constant brutal assault of the WWE Champion, along with the aggression that the Phenomenal One released at SummerSlam, have led to another match in this intense feud.
WWE revealed on their website that Styles and Joe would again face off at the next pay per view, WWE Hell In A Cell, which takes place on September 16th. However, the WWE Championship match won’t be defended inside a Hell In A Cell…at least not yet.
