Backstage news on how many matches Brock Lesnar will have through Universal Title reign

Brock Lesnar Universal Championship

According to a report from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, while WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar is currently scheduled to defend his title at the Great Balls Of Fire pay-per-view (PPV) in July, but has no dates confirmed after that. Great Balls Of Fire is set to go down from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas on July 9th.

Seth Rollins and Finn Balor made their cases as to why they should challenge Lesnar next last night (Mon. May 1, 2017) on Monday Night RAW, and it’s expected that each of them will get that opportunity before Wrestlemania 34, but ‘The Beast’ is currently expected to face Braun Strowman at Great Balls Of Fire.

It should be noted that Lesnar only worked two matches before losing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 31, after having won the title at SummerSlam back in 2014. Meltzer noted that Lesnar is expected to work a lot more than his 2014 run as champ.

I hope they hold off on Braun vs Brock. Too soon to put the big title on Braun and a loss right now hurts the gimmick.

  • MindTricked

    Exactly.

  • Nicholas Giambattista

They are at least giving the IC title notice as a major title again.

I have a feeling this is Brock Lasner last run in the WWE as champion. This time next year I think Brock Lasner is done with Pro Wrestling.

  • Nicholas Giambattista

I agree Kevin Owens was the perfect champion.

I don’t mind the Part time wrestler. But putting WWE Unverlasial Championship is a different story.

    BOOOOOO!!!!!!!

I have no problem with a part timer being champ as long as they show up and defend it. Instead of stringing his dates out, they need to book him in a block of dates, then give him months off. Not give him months off between matches. Its ridiculous when you consider that if someone is injured for a couple of months, they have to relinquish the title, yet a healthy Lesnar can go even longer without defending it.
Even Ambrose made a crack about it on Raw this week.

And when undertaker was champ he wasn’t afraid to show up on live TV like brock lesnar is smackdown has a better champ then raw randy least fights for it wwe is beginning to return stupid and losing there fan base and I’m one of them.

Brock as champ is horrible he don’t even come out on raw live to do any matches how can he be a champ, I hope raw leaves the belt with Rollins at least he will fight for it every night stead of haven some loud mouth talk for him brock is good for only one thing to hype up wrestlemainia but since the deadman supposly gone for good I doubt wwe can top anything that will interest me watching wrestlemania next year they handed down the yard to the wrong person I had Kane an undertaker retire at same time as a tag team match against Braun and bray bury them two alive and then have Kane an undertaker burn there ring gear in the ring to rest there souls forever.

Not only is he extremely part-time and r pp forgetting the title even exists. On Raw the Miz even admitted that the lead title on RAW is the Intercontinental Title. Im not sure y they had him or allowed him to say that but it seems to b true since its now the only single title carried by the men of RAW

  • MindTricked

The “Universal” title has no real value, and hasn’t since Owens dropped it. They’ve really screwed up with this mess. Having a part-timer hold the belt, whether it be Lesnar, Goldberg, or the Rock, is a complete mistake.

  • ROB-1.

Having Brock as a champion is such a waste.
