Bobby Lashley reveals if President Donald Trump really is racist, a possible WWE return, fighting Brock Lesnar

Former WWE Superstar and TNA world champion Bobby Lashley was recently interviewed by Sports Illustrated’s Extra Mustard. You can check out the highlights here:

On if he would ever consider returning to WWE:

“I’m really happy where I am. I’ve never been a politics guy in wrestling, I’m just someone who came out and worked. I’m a product of amateur wrestling, and there is no one there to help you with matches or win matches—you have to do it yourself. I love wrestling, and of course WWE is the main stage, but I’m happy to be with TNA. If the right scenario ever came up to return, then it’s a possibility, but I am extremely happy where I am right now.”

On if President Donald Trump is a racist after working together at Wrestlemania 23:

“I worked with him at WrestleMania, so when the media starts throwing all these accusations at him, I can tell you he was not racist. He made that WrestleMania so successful because he was great in his role as ‘The Donald.’ He had WWE on a big billboard in Times Square, he put us in different media outlets that we otherwise wouldn’t have been in, and he helped make that the largest WrestleMania in history. We need a leader who can make change, and he is the man.”

On wanting to fight Brock Lesnar:

“I want that fight with Brock Lesnar. I don’t care if it’s the ring, the cage, or in a street fight. Brock is at one of the highest points in the business, so high that they’re trying to bring him down to make other stars. Brock brings legitimacy to the business, and he has Paul Heyman with him to do everything else he can’t do. I’m completely up for that fight.”

Brock does NOT bring legitimacy. He has only one move that is redundant to watch every night (the suplex). His hype is over rated. Nice try Lashley, trying to sell yourself to Lesnar. Brown noser, much? Suck up.

And that is not what I said either. I was replying to your generalisation that what successful person isn’t their own biggest fan. At no point did I say Lashley was saying he was better than Brock.
My point which you ignored was, not about Lashleys achievement’s or lack of, it was that you made a sweeping statement that any successful person should overhype themselves.

  • D2K

That’s a ridiculously obtuse comparison and none of that applies here from the fact that NOWHERE did Lashley say he was as good or better than Brock Lesnar. Ryback has no amateur background or martial-arts background at all so I have no idea why you though THAT was a good idea to bring up.

If you want to go there, just for the record, Bobby Lashley’s MMA record is 15-2. Brock Lesnar’s record is 5-3.

Lashley won three National Championships (Missouri Valley College is not affiliate with the NCAA) as a collegiate-wrestler. Lesnar has one Division-1 NCAA championship and is a two-time NCAA All-American. Lashley also was a Sergent in the US Army (which means he has some martial-arts experience as well.)

So it is insulting to even suggest that he is “over-hyping” himself when…..

    A. All he did was state that he wanted to fight the guy.
    B. His resume is above and beyond good enough.

    C. He put the guy over by saying Brock is at one of the highest points in the business, that they have to bring him DOWN to make other stars, and that he adds legitimacy to the business.

    Wow. What a swelled-head he’s got?

There is though a difference between believing in yourself and overhyping yourself.
I mean, I think I am a great motorcycle rider, but I don’t consider myself on the same level as Valentino Rossi.
There is a vast difference between confidence and delusion. Just look at Ryback.

What successful person isn’t? If you don’t believe in yourself, no one else will either.
