Diamond Dallas Page Monday Nitro Highlights

  • John

This looks like an awesome set.

  • Steve

Some of you people are pants-on-head retarded.

“Why ain’t there no 1988 matches?”

Because there was no Nitro in 1988. Look at the title of the DVD, stupid.

“How come this ain’t got no Ron Simmons on it?”

Was Ron Simmons ever on Nitro? Uh, no.

  • RPM

they will make more money off this then any other WWE dvd this year, I can’t wait for it.

  • Leon

wtf…1988 was the first year of wcw and they don’t have anything on it..1995 they start at..r u kidding me…i would like to see old school matches too…How about flair vs steamboat..Flair vs sting..this dvd is a joke..that is like starting best of wwe in 1995 with hbk vs bret hart…its fuc..king stupid…

  • Chuva

There seems to be missing somebody. I can’t recall his name tho. It’s like it was erased from history. He was Canadian I think. Shorter guy, muscled. His nickname was “Badger” or “Ferret”… some kind of violent animal. I vaguely remember him being one of THE best workers ever. Too bad he just doesn’t exist in the wrestling history anymore.

Great lineup tho for sure. Yea, there are some I don’t care about, and clearly some missing, but overall, a great set. Just might pick this up.

Next up, “Best Of Thunder”, which for me, would be even better. Thunder focused more on “second tier” talent, aka, Cruiser Division, which was THE reason I ever watched WCW.

They also need “best of PPVs” comps too. Like Best of Starrcade, Best of Halloween Havoc, etc. I’d much rather see that, then “Best of RAW 2010″ or even “Best of Wrestlemania”.

  • sam

    when is this dvd out?

  • Devil_Rising

Or, ahem, “Very Best of Nitro” even. But most of those guys that I mentioned, and more, had matches and storylines on Nitro.

  • Devil_Rising

Looks decent, however, many are repeats that have been on other DVDs, and there are quite a lot of matches that should be on here that just aren’t. I don’t see any Raven/Flock matches. I don’t see any Kronik (before they sucked ass in WWF). I don’t see any LWO or Filthy Animals represented. No Team Canada crazyness. No Vampiro (before he sucked). No La Parka. Nothing at all about Kevin Sullivan’s Doom faction, a bunch of monster heels that he used to try and destroy Hogan when he first showed up. No Ron Simmons. No VADER (who for a couple of years WAS the top heel in WCW). No ULTIMO DRAGON, arguably the greatest of all the Cruiserweights.

Sorry, but this certainly doesn’t strike me a BEST OF WCW DVD. Maybe for someone who wasn’t old enough to actually WATCH WCW, sure. Mind you, I was a WWF guy all the way. But I DID watch Nitro from time to time, and there were certainly wrestlers I liked, and matches I appreciated. Oddly, or not so ironically enough, this DVD set seems to be dominated by the very thing that made WCW ultimately go under: a whole lot of old veterans who wouldn’t step aside or help make younger guys into top stars. Not a BAD DVD set, by any means. But for “VERY BEST OF WCW”, I’d have expected a lot better.

  • d

wwe isn’t going to put benoit in anything plain and simple

  • Derp

Never watched WCW growing up, but I’m going to buy this

  • Zach V

kannon thats because it didnt happen on a nitro and nd that match is on every rey and eddie dvd anyway plus its on the high flyers dvd

  • kannon

Great dvd, but they left out the greatest match ever.

Mysterio vs Guerrero Halloween Havoc 1997

  • TomC

That is a SERIOUSLY EPIC LINEUP !!!

  • mark

some great matches. never really watched wcw so this mite be a good chance to catchu up on what i missed.

  • Rucdogg

I was really hoping (heel) Sting vs benoit for the world title would be on there, that was a damn good match. or the maatch with sting, ddp, and luger vs flair hogan and hart the night after sting turned on hogan.

  • IchiroVader

    Eddie Guerrero vs. Ric Flair
    20th May, 1996

That was an epic match. It pretty much destroys anything you would see on WWE or TNA right now.

  • Bryan Reynolds

@ Seth and Adam when they did the Booker T. vs Storm match it was when Storm had won all the other single titles(US, Hardcore, & Cruiser) and had changed them all to Canadian titles so it was champion vs champion and I think it was in Canada so it mad it interesting and was a good match!

  • ##

I will be getting this too! Even though youtube has these these matches available already

  • Seth

ddtdigest.com remains the best site for remembering WCW

  • Seth

@adam, the booker t v lance storm match is what stood out to me as well.

  • Dystre Fjell

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAR GAMES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, this f’ing rules ! Im buying this the day it comes out !

  • adam

Looks like a good DVD u knew it was the end of wcw when the main match was a world title match booker t vs lance storm. Soon they will have a best of impact dvd which will just focus on tna before hogan and bichoff came. Than they will have a rise and fall of tna were it is focused on dixie carter and hogan

  • Scorpion Death Drop

    MUST BUY THIS DVD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
