John Cena is looking forward to facing Roman Reigns

In a recent interview with Sports Illustrate, WWE’s poster boy for the last decade, John Cena talked about many things including his wrestling gear and proposing Nikki Bella at WrestleMania 33.

Cena was also asked about a possible clash between him and WWE’s new top-face-in-the-making Roman Reigns. Replying to this, the former World Champion first praised the performance of the Big Dog:

“Roman is in the trenches every night and he’s performing at an elite level with a champion calibre attitude, His performance and the response that he gets from certain audiences is indicative of an elite-level performer.”

Although later the Cenation leader commented on the fact that Reigns considers WWE his yard, and said that he is looking forward to the day he will face Roman:

“He’s doing what I did in 2006, 2007, and 2008. He has all the justification in the world in saying it’s his yard. I’ve made a career of shutting the mouths of people who’ve made that claim that WWE was their yard, I very, very much look forward to the day we put that to the test.”

However, while John Cena vs. Roman Reigns can easily be a WrestleMania Calibre match, the possibilities of these two stars colliding in near future are not very bright as both of them are in different brands and Cena is taking more time off from WWE than he has done ever since he became the face of the company.
