JR Blogs: Confirms Finn Balor’s Injury, Universal Title Design Backlash

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has released another blog on his JR’s BBQ website, and you can check out the highlights here:

On Finn Balor’s Injury:

“Reports of Balor injuring his shoulder during the title match are true and WWE will determine the extend of the injury ASAP. Hopefully, Finn won’t need surgery which would be extremely unfortunate.”

On Balor vs Rollins match:

“Thoroughly enjoyed Finn Balor vs Seth Rollins and this was an other finish that pleasantly surprised me as I predicted that Rollins would get the duke in Brooklyn. Great main roster, career launching victory for the Irish lad who has an unlimited upside. Hats off to Rollins who helped facilitate Balor’s reign as the first ever Universal Champion who arguably has the most controversial looking title belt in recent memory in the business. The belt seemed to turn heel before our very eyes on the broadcast which is actually funny when one thinks about it.

“I’ve never seen a reaction to a title belt as we all experienced Sunday night. Sign of the times I assume.”

It’s not the design that is the issue. It’s the fact that it’s identical to its counterpart, AND the women’s title. The only thing that changed is the strap color and the wording beneath.

I’m now led to assume the cruiserweight title will look the same as well.

While there are obviously more important things going on in the world today, that doesn’t mean people can’t voice their displeasure to something they think is sub-par. Both the name, and the design of the World Heavyweight title of the supposed flagship show are both terrible and lazy. No thought was put into either.

The crowd reaction to the belt was exactly what it should have been. But I guess we are supposed to let WWE tell us how to think rather than think for ourselves, right?

Just wasters with nothing of use to say, shouting just to be heard.
