Rumor: Finn Balor could be receiving a big push soon

Finn Balor made a pretty big splash in his first few matches on the main roster back in 2016. After defeating Cesaro, Rusev, and Kevin Owens in a fatal-four-way match, Balor went on to pin Roman Reigns clean to advance to Summerslam. There, the Demon overcame the Authority’s golden boy, Seth Rollins, to become the inaugural Universal Champion.

Sadly, his run with the title was already over before it could really begin, as an injury would force him to vacate the title. Balor hasn’t really made it back to that height since returning right after WrestleMania 33. A few opportunities at mid-card titles have come his way, but he hasn’t touched gold since the Universal Title.

Well, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Balor is set for a huge push soon. This comes off of the heels of rumors circulating around Balor’s contract, and it’s possible that he re-signed recently.

Balor has been feuding with Raw’s top heels for the past few months, going against Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, and Drew McIntyre. At WWE TLC, Balor managed to defeat the Scottish Psychopath with the help of Dolph Ziggler. Could this be a sign of bigger things to come? We’ll have to wait and see.
