TNA Impact Wrestling Report – 2/13/15

We start off with a look back at the finish of last week’s Lethal Lockdown match, then we go to Glasgow, Scotland as the Beat Down Clan (and Eric Young) arrive at the arena. MVP tells the crew that they need to show everyone that they’re the Beat Down Clan because they can, and Joe echeos the sentiment as they head inside.

Inside the arena, Kurt Angle says he’s always been drawn to success, but sometimes there is a need to rely on others, and he thanks his team members for helping him beat the BDC. Angle says the BDC wants to control the World Title, but he thinks the best wrestler in the world should hold the World Title, and rightn ow he wants to invite the best wrestler in the world, Bobby Lashley, out to the ring. Angle wants to start by thanking Lashley for his help winning Lethal Lockdown and shakes his hand, but Lashley tells Angle not to be confused because he just wanted to get his hands on MVP. Angle says he didn’t just bring Lashley out here to thank him, he wants to be the World Champion, and he wants Angle vs Lashley for the TNA World Title. He asks Lashley what he says, but the BDC comes out to interrupt before we get Lashley’s answer. MVP says before the two of them do whatever they do, Team Angle did not defeat the BDC because Lashley was not officially sanctioned in that match, and therefore he never officially pinned MVP. MVP says they’ll do whatever they want, to whoever they want to do it to, and whenever they want to do it because they are the Beat Down Clan. In fact, they’re ready to beat the two of them down, Angle is going to learn a painful lesson, and Lashley has a World Title that belongs to the Beat Down Clan, so he wants to know which of them wants to catch this ass whopping. Lashley says he’ll fight any two of them in a tag team match, and his partner will be Kurt Angle.

Later tonight, Matt Hardy will give us an update on Jeff’s condition after that insane bump he took off the cage last week.

Bobby Roode is WALKING backstage when Austin Aries comes up to him and talks about their history together. Roode says tonight is about getting a shot at regaining the title, and wants to leave it all in the ring like they always do. Aries is on board with that, but waves his Feast or Fired briefcase at Roode as he leaves.

We look back at last week when Tyrus squashed both Spud and Mandrews before Jeremy Borash stopped EC3 from shaving Spud’s head. Borash catches up with Spud and Tyrus backstage and says he always gets what he wants, and he wants Borash to team with Spud and Mandrews against them tonight.

Austin Aries vs Bobby Roode

They start with a basic feeling out process, then quickly go into the “countering each other’s finishes one minute into the match” sequence before Aries hits a twisting slingshot splash and a pumping elbow for 2. Roode tries to roll out to the floor and catch a break, but Aries comes off the top with a Macho Man double axhandle, then dumps Roode back inside and comes off the top again. This time Roode is ready for him and meets him with a dropkick as Aries comes down. Roode covers for 2, then plants Aries with a gourdbuster and then a spinebuster for another 2 count. Aries starts firing back, hammering Roode with right hands in the corner, but Roode shoves Aries off and comes off the second rope with a Blockbuster for 2. Roode puts Aries on the top rope for a superplex, Aries fights him off and knocks him to the mat after boxing his ears, then Aries comes off the top yet again, this time with a missile dropkick. Roode escapes the brainbuster and goes for the Roode Bomb, but Aries slips out the back and knocks Roode to the floor with a roaring elbow. Aries goes for the IED, but Roode moves out of the way and Aries crashes shoulder first into the guardrail. Aries rolls Roode up for 2, but Roode catches him in the crossface on the kickout. Aries tries to roll out of it, but Roode rolls through with him and Aries taps out.

Winner: Bobby Roode

Great match as usual from these two. Roode agrees with me, getting a mic and saying that was pro wrestling, and Aries is one of the greatest wrestlers he’s ever had the pleasure of sharing the ring with. He shakes Aries’ hand, and applauds him as he picks up his briefcase and heads to the back. Roode says it’s time for him to get back his World Title, and he knows Lashley has his hands full with the BDC, but Roode-Lashley III never happened, and he deserves a rematch. Roode is barely finished before Eric Young comes out of the crowd and nails him from behind, then gives Roode a piledriver and finishes by spitting on his former best friend.

We see Roode being helpesd out of the ring after the commercial break, but Young jumps Roode again in the aisle and gives him another piledriver (a leapng one, at that) on the bare floor. Eric seems briefly perturbed by fans telling him that he sold out, but brushes them off and heads to the back nonetheless.

We go to Josh and Taz in the studio as they talk over the Roode-Young situation, then we go to the ring where Al Snow (complete with grey beard) introduces himself to the fans who may not know him, and puts himself over as a trainer. The fans are heeling him big time, and he says they can’t do what he does and he knows that because they’re sitting out there and not standing in the ring. He was asked to do British Bootcamp and he saw someone else who thought he could do what Snow does, and before he kicks Grado’s ass again next week, he wants him to come down to the ring RIGHT NOW. This guy looks like Eddie from Silent Hill 2. Snow tells Grado that he still doesn’t think he has the heart or passion, and he doesn’t respect him because he showed Snow no respect, but he’ll give Snow one last chance to walk away. Grado grabs the mic out of Snow’s hand and tells him to shut up and that they don’t take crap here in Glasgow, and Snow says he sees Grado’s mom in the crowd and wants to ask her. He tells Grado’s mom that she should be ashamed, andthat she should tell her son to just quit and walk away. Grado is just standing there watching Snow lash into his mom, but finally she slaps him and Grado comes out and chases Snow off. Snow is irate and tells Grado that he’ll have to beat him to get any respect from Snow, and it’s not possible that anyone from this town could ever beat him. Grado gives his parents a hug, presumably to thank them for sticking up for him against the big mean American wrestler.

Crazzy Steve vs Bram

This is pretty much a slaughter, as Bram destroys Steve and then gets a microphone and tells Magnus that he’s right here and to come down and fight him. Bram goes back and forth between beating Steve up and calling Magnus out, then puts Steve away with an implant DDT.

Winner: Bram

Steve got almost no offense in here, and Magnus never showed.

Spud is backstage giving Borash and Mandrews a pep talk by telling them they’re going to be lions and tigers out there. Okay.

Gunner comes into Kurt Angle’s dressing room and says that Angle knew he wasn’t 100%, but still believed in him last week. He thinks teaming with Lashley is a mistake, but Angle said he and Lashley are going to fight sooner rather than later and that he appreciates Gunner stopping by, but he’s got this.

Ethan Carter III & Tyrus vs Spud, Mandrews & Jeremy Borash

Tyrus blows through both Spud and Mandrews within seconds, so Borash reluctantly tags in. EC3 comes in because he wants a piece of Borash and takes a swing. Borash blocks and fires off a flurry of punches at Carter, but Carter rams him into the far corner and returns fire. Borash dodges a charge and tags in Mandrews, who quickly finds himself in trouble as well. Carter still has that big brace on his arm and does very, very little with the left arm, but doesn’t really need to since he mostly just comes in to dish out punishment and then tags in Tyrus to do the heavy lifting. Mandrews hits a jawbreaker and dives for the tag, Carter stops him, Mandrews hits a leaping enziguiri, and finally tags Spud in. Spud goes nuts unloading on EC3, punching and kicking him into oblivion in the corner. Tyrus comes in and tries to avalanche Spud from behind, but Spud moves and Tyrus squashes EC3. Borash wipes Tyrus out with a dive to the floor, but Spud is watching that and doesn’t see EC3 come in and blindside him with a northern lariat. EC3 finishes Spud with the 1%.

Winners: Ethan Carter III & Tyrus

EC3 tells Tyrus to hold Spud for a head shaving, then he gets an electric razor from ringside and prepares to buzz him. The lights go out, and Ken Anderson is in the ring when they come back up. He mockingly acts like he’s daring Spud and friends to come back and fight the three of them, then he punches Tyrus in the ding ding and attacks Carter, who bails out to the safe arms of Tyrus.

Gunner is backstage and says it was almost a year ago that he nearly became World Champion, and next week after the gauntlet, he plans on closing that distance. Kenny King and Low Ki come in and beat him down and leave him laying.

Madison Rayne comes out to the ring and says she is only here to make one thing abundantly clear: she is the Queen Bee of the Knockouts division. That WHUMP at the beginning of Kong’s entrance music keeps hitting while she talks and Madison gets annoyed because she thinks it’s a problem with the sound guy. She is one reign away from the record for most Knockouts Title wins, and there is nobody back there who can beat her. Of course you know that Kong’s music hits, and she comes out to test that theory.

Madison Rayne vs Awesome Kong

Kong destroys Madison and splashes her in the corner. She misses a conventional splash and Madison gets some shots in, but Kong dodges a dropkick, hits the implant buster, and that’s it.

Winner: Awesome Kong

Well so much for that quest to break the record, huh Madison?

Kurt Angle comes up to Austin Aries backstage and says he tapped out tonight to fight another day. He has his eye on the World Title and so does everyone else, and he’s been World Champion before and will be again. Aries waves the case around and then leaves.

We take another look at that crazy bump Jeff Hardy took last week, then Matt Hardy comes out to the ring to update us on Jeff’s condition. He really wishes Jeff could be here in Scotland, he has taken amazing risks and created iconic memories, and many times the look in Jeff’s eyes said he was down but not out and would be okay. But that look wasn’t there last week, and he wants to congratulate James Storm for doing what no other wrestler on this planet has ever been able to do. This brings Storm and the Revolution out, and the Revolution surrounds the ring while Storm gets in and goes face to face with Hardy. He says he is right that he did what Lashley, Roode, and even the Undertaker couldn’t do: he put Jeff Hardy down and is responsible for creating his own story where heroes never win. He’ll give Matt Hardy two options: he can join the Revolution, or they can set Matt up with a nice hospital bed next to his brother. Matt says Jeff does have a nice hospital bed, and he attacks Storm, leading to the Revolution running in and beating him down. The Wolves run in and clean house on the Revolution, giving Sanada the alarm clock for good measure as the rest of the group bails.

Lashley and Angle are backstage, and they’re…WALKING! The main event is up next!

The Mystery Cameraman is backstage asking Austin Aries if he has a timeframe for using the briefcase, and he starts telling him what a stupid question that is when Kenny King walks in to get in his face. Aries knows what’s up and lays into King, but Low Ki and MVP run in and the numbers are too much. The BDC beat Aries down and throw him out of the building, tossing his briefcase after him for good measure.

Kurt Angle & Bobby Lashley vs Samoa Joe & MVP

Joe and Aries start us off and do some basic feeling out stuff, then Lashley tags in to dish out some heavy punishment to Joe. Joe fires back with some shots of his own, but Lashley takes Joe’s head off with a clothesline. MVP gets a cheapshot on Lashley from the apron, distracting him so Joe can hit him from behind. Now MVP tags in and stomps Lashley out in the corner, then hits a diving dropkick for 2. Lashley is in the wrong part of town, but Lashley hits Joe with a neckbreaker and tags in Angle, who suplexes the BDC around and hits an Angle Slam on Joe for 2. MVP tags in and goes right after Angle with kneelifts to the chest and rolls him up for 2. MVP with a hard roaring clothesline for 2, and Low Ki chokes Angle on the bottom rope while MVP distracts the ref. Angle nails Joe with a second rope dropkick to create some space and now tags Lashley back in to go at it with MVP. Lashley dominates with heavy hitting offense, spears MVP in the corner, and gives him a delayed vertical suplex. Angle neutralizes Joe and gets him in the anklelock, but Joe rolls through and sends Angle stumbling into Lashley. Lashley sidesteps him, but MVP sneaks in and rolls Lashley up with a handful of tights for the win.

Winners: MVP and Samoa Joe

Lashley is made that he got pinned like that, and gets into an argument with Angle as we call it a week.
