Dave Meltzer has a respective system of rating matches but he has been receiving criticism over it ever since he decided to break his 5-star scale last year.
He gave the match between Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada at Wrestle Kingdom 6 stars and then went one step further ahead and rewarded their latest encounter at the Dominion PPV with a 7-star rating.
The NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa took a shot at this recently and making a tweet, the former DIY member gave his recent match with Aleister Black an 8 star rating:

For those who don’t know, Tommaso Ciampa defeated Aleister Black and won the NXT Championship, during the July 25th episode of the show.
After that, the company has announced that Ciampa will defend his title against Black and Johnny Gargano at the upcoming Takeover: Brooklyn IV event.
