Report: WWE Holds Meeting With NXT Talents About Bonus Pay

WWE’s Canyon Cemen and several NXT coaches held a meeting with the NXT talents at the Performance Center in Orlando last Thursday about payments.

According to Pwinsider.com, talents were told that they will only be paid based on their developmental deals and won’t be receiving bonuses based on larger events (“Takeover: Brooklyn” and the December UK tour) that they work.

The reason for this is because WWE cannot provide bonuses based on those live events due to NXT running at a loss for the live gate revenue from those events. Basically, this means that WWE is losing money from NXT after they pay the coaches and the costs of running and operating the Performance Center.

NXT usually runs only 250 to 400 seat buildings. Similar to an indie promotion running shows. Thus, those shows are not very profitable.
