Dean Ambrose Talks About 12 Rounds 3: Lockdown, WWE’s Roster, And NXT

WWE star Dean Ambrose recently spoke with Brian Fritz of SportingNews.com to promote the upcoming WWE Studios movie “12 Rounds 3: Lockdown.” Here are the highlights.

On taking on more film roles:

“When you’re on the road with the WWE, you’re so wrapped up in this whirlwind of making 300 towns a year and wrestling every night that I wasn’t looking too far into the future,” he explains. “But if the opportunity was in front of me, I was definitely going to take it. If I got hit by a bus tomorrow, I get to say I was in a movie. I had a sense they thought it would be something I would be good at and maybe it’s another avenue to pursue after my career.”

On WWE’s current talent pool:

“There’s so much excitement with guys trying to get on Monday Night Raw. There’s a lot of excitement with the NXT brand and there’s just so much young talent. Our whole generation has come up and taken over the spots like myself, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Bray Wyatt, Cesaro, Luke Harper. We’re main-eventing every night in all these towns 300 nights a year. The bigger stars only come in for the bigger shows and so forth. People always want to know when Sting is coming back? When’s the Rock coming back? Brock Lesnar only works a select amount of dates.”
