WWE is trying all they can to increase their ratings with the professional wrestling world undergoing a change due to AEW. With ratings dwindling, WWE seems to somewhat straying away from PG-friendly content.
The company is especially trying to increase the number of teenage viewers and for that reason, they had Kofi Kingston flip off Samoa Joe on this week’s Smackdown Live.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE is indeed trying to get the attention of the teenage audience, which would explain WWE’s way of trying adding non-PG elements to their product. This also includes Cory Graves shouting the s-word on RAW this week as well.
We will get to know in due time whether this will have any effect on the ratings.
