On the latest episode of the “Nitty Gritty Dirt Show” on RussosBrand.com, host Billi Bhatti and former WWE writer Vince Russo, discussed the possibility of former WWE Champion, Daniel Bryan being the next in line for Roman Reigns reign as Universal Champion. Wrestling-Edge transcribed the comments below.
“As things stand, sources claim that the WWE are moving forward with the idea with Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan headlining the WrestleMania 37 card, with Bryan penciled in to win the upcoming Royal Rumble. While this match will appeal to several hardcore wrestling enthusiasts and while WWE can certainly tell a compelling story on route to WrestleMania, it certainly is not the kind of main event that signals a ‘major reset’ within the company.
Bhatti concluded: “It appears that WWE will not be overloading WrestleMania with attractions that are meant to recapture the eye of the casual viewer, a common trait of WrestleManias from the past.”
In other news revolving ‘The Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns, WWE legend Stone Cold Steve Austin gave serious praise to the current Universal Champion and his ‘special counsel’ Paul Heyman. In a new interview with SI.com, Austin stated the following: “That’s such a great package. They complement each other so well,” Austin says. “Roman can work his ass off. He’s always been very solid in the ring, but now there’s this bond and this chemistry between Roman and Paul.”
The Texas Rattlesnake continued: “That’s what Paul Heyman does. He makes anybody he’s with that much better. It happened for me, too. If you want to suspend your disbelief, you can’t but help believe he’s Roman’s rock of knowledge. The presentation, the package and the chemistry between these two looks and sounds like money.”
