Big E is the current Intercontinental Champion and has been on the receiving end of a huge push on Friday Night Smackdown. So far he has been booked as a strong champion.
A clip was recently uploaded on Twitter, which showed Big E recently speaking to BT Sport. During the interview, Big E revealed that he wants to become the best homegrown male Superstar in WWE.
Big E revealed that he had a hard time trying to figure out other Superstars who had a lot of success in WWE despite not having any prior experience in pro wrestling.
Big E mentioned the likes of John Cena, but stated that even Cena had some experience in the independent scene before working in WWE.
The Intercontinental Champion also added that while Brock Lesnar might fit the profile, Big E only meant those Superstars who were signed with WWE since 2009.
“I’m trying to think of any talent, any other talent, who has been really successful, who had zero previous experience. I want to say, my goal is to be the best… the best talent, the best homegrown male talent in WWE. At least since I’ve been employed. I’m trying to think of the others. Because, you know, even a guy like Cena, he had done some indies. There are some other guys like that who… But I don’t know if there’s anyone else, at least in my era. I could say Brock, because he was signed to WWE and only WWE, but I mean someone who was signed since about 2009. Because there aren’t that many, there aren’t many, you know? There’s a lot of Football players who were brought in and they weren’t that good. I have to think more. Maybe I’m not that high on the list.”
Big E recently defended his title against Apollo Crews on Friday Night Smackdown. We will have to see what is next in store for him.
"My goal is to be the best homegrown male talent…"
For @WWEBigE, the WWE PC was the place where he first got introduced to the ring and he hasn't done too bad since 👏
Which got us thinking:
