On a recent episode of the “Nitty Gritty Dirt Show” on RussosBrand.com, host Billi Bhatti and former WWE writer Vince Russo, discussed how the current plan is for ESPN to bid on first-run airings of A list WWE pay-per-views such as the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania. Combat Sports streaming service DAZN is also allegedly in the mix as well, with both showing strong interest to bid. This would mean the second-run airings would take place on Peacock. Bhatti: The reason why they are one-hundred percent certain that this will work is because it’s fan-friendly at the moment will be different if the sell the A-list PPVs. DAZN and ESPN are in the running for the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania moving forward. So ESPN already have the UFC and will be one-hundred percent interested in the first run rights to the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania. DAZN are looking for any combat sport at the moment and are the two biggest boxing companies.
However, WrestleMania 37 aired exclusively on NBC’s Peacock streaming service. It took place as a two-night event on April 10 and 11, 2021 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida at Raymond James Stadium.
