WWE Hall Of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin’s feud with The Rock has gone down in history as one of the most iconic feuds in all of professional wrestling. Their feud ended at WrestleMania 19 in 2003, which was Steve Austin’s final match as an in-ring competitor. It was the third match at WrestleMania in their feud. Steve Austin and The Rock Smackdown return also leaked previously.
Dave Meltzer discussed the possibility of Steve Austin wrestling after WrestleMania 38. Meltzer stated that it won’t be impossible if Austin is healthy enough for it.
“Well, I suppose it depends on how he [Steve Austin] physically feels after doing the one-shot… The thing is, he’s got to be able to avoid injury at that age doing it. I could see him doing Mania and the next Saudi show, but they have a lot of stadium shows coming up.
He would also be diminishing returns. The thing with Austin, which is one of the reasons that he never came back, was because Austin had a pretty high view of his own wrestling and I don’t think he wanted to come back as, you know, a diminished wrestler. I don’t know. I just heard that he’s going to be at Mania. I could see him, you know, perhaps being a regular in some form in a non-wrestling fashion. I could see that, and maybe wrestle every now and then.
I don’t know. There’s a lot of money in wrestling right now and maybe he saw kind of like a deal with Edge where you can do three matches and get just an incredible amount of money. Maybe he’s going to do that. I don’t know.”
Vince McMahon has been the head of the company since he took control of the organization in 1982. McMahon saw various changes in his company over the last few decades as well. All through that, he continued to adapt to the changing times. However, many fans now feel that he is out of touch and simply has no idea what is good for a WWE Superstar.
Triple H is currently the COO of WWE and he is also a veteran in the world of professional wrestling, having competed in several great matches and countless memorable moments during his time as an active in-ring competitor in the company. He was also running NXT until he suffered a cardiac event, leading to him being absent from his role for the past few months.
