PWInsider.com are reporting that Charlotte Flair told WWE at WrestleMania she is going on hiatus again. Vince McMahon’s return to power in WWE has caused a stir in the backstage area. Morale has dipped, and Triple H is stuck doing “busy work” while Vince makes changes to the show while it’s live once again. However, it’s important to note that Triple H inherited a lot of the deals that Vince McMahon had arranged before his exit.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Vince McMahon was responsible for bringing Cody Rhodes back to WWE. Additionally, the deal between The Rock and Roman Reigns to face off at WrestleMania was also a deal that McMahon had orchestrated.
Meltzer clarified that it was always going to be either Cody Rhodes or The Rock taking on Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, and that the decision ultimately lay with The Rock. Regardless of Triple H’s involvement, this was a deal that Vince McMahon had set up.
“It was always going to be Cody or The Rock vs Roman and that was up to The Rock, either way. That didn’t change with Triple H, that was Vince McMahon’s thing.”
Unfortunately, The Rock was unable to make his return to the ring at WrestleMania 39, citing that he couldn’t get physically prepared for the event in time. This is surprising, given that Dwayne Johnson’s physique is one of the best in Hollywood.
However, fans are still holding out hope that The Rock will make his long-awaited return to WWE. With Vince McMahon back in power and the company buyout, perhaps The Rock will be convinced to come back to the company that made him a household name. Only time will tell.
