WWE Sign 2000’s Legend Before SmackDown

Carlito, the charismatic wrestler who once shone brightly in WWE’s mid-card division, captured the hearts of fans with his unique persona and in-ring skills. However, his tenure with the company came to an end in 2010 when he was released. While he made a surprise appearance in the 2021 Royal Rumble, it wasn’t until his electrifying return at Backlash earlier this year that it truly felt like Carlito had come back home. And now, the rumors circulating in the wrestling world suggest that Carlito may have officially signed with WWE once again.

The nostalgic moment that signaled Carlito’s return occurred during Bad Bunny and Damian Priest’s highly anticipated San Juan Street Fight at the Backlash Premium Live Event. The match had been marred by interference from The Judgment Day, but just when it seemed like all hope was lost, Carlito emerged from the shadows to even the odds. The crowd erupted with excitement as they witnessed the familiar figure of Caribbean Cool making his way to the ring.

The rumors surrounding Carlito’s potential return gained further traction thanks to Dave Meltzer, a trusted voice in the world of professional wrestling. On a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer shared intriguing information regarding Carlito’s status.

Apparently, Carlito had cancelled an independent wrestling appearance scheduled for July 15 in Canada, which was set to take place under Devon Nicholson’s Great North Wrestling promotion. Carlito allegedly reached out to Nicholson personally, informing him of his decision to cancel due to him rejoining WWE.

”He (Carlito) had an independent show on July 15 for Devon Nicholson in Canada, and he called him up to cancel and said that he has signed with WWE.

So… perhaps he has signed with WWE. That’s what Devon Nicholson said today.”
