Fox News Host Reports Trump ‘Not Guilty’ Verdict

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade found himself in hot water recently after prematurely criticizing the media for overreacting to Donald Trump being “found not guilty” on espionage charges brought by special counsel Jack Smith. The problem? The case hasn’t even been given a trial date yet. Update: The post has since been corrected to read “pleaded not guilty.”

Kilmeade took to Facebook to share a clip from his commentary on Fox News Tonight, where he called out CNN and MSNBC for not airing Trump’s remarks after being indicted and arraigned. However, the headline accompanying the video on Facebook raised eyebrows. It read: “CNN Hosts Go NUCLEAR As Trump Is Found Not Guilty And Refuse To Air His Speech.”

This headline caused confusion, as it clearly misrepresented the situation. In the video itself, Kilmeade acknowledged that an indictment is not the same as a verdict. He criticized the media for focusing on the arraignment but not giving adequate coverage to Trump’s subsequent speech. Kilmeade stressed the importance of the presumption of innocence, highlighting that Trump is innocent until proven guilty.

The discrepancy between the video content and the Facebook headline raises questions about the intent behind the headline. Was it a typo or a miscommunication? One possibility is that the intended headline was “As Trump Pleads Not Guilty,” which would align more closely with the content of Kilmeade’s commentary.

Unfortunately, no response has been received from Fox News clarifying the matter. Speculation remains as to whether it was a simple error or a more deliberate attempt to generate attention and controversy. Regardless, it is crucial to note that Trump has neither been found guilty nor not guilty. As Kilmeade himself stated in the video, an arraignment does not determine guilt or innocence.
