Jamie Foxx Calls Star Wars Star From Hospital

John Boyega, the talented actor known for his role in “Star Wars,” recently shared his heartfelt well wishes for his co-star, Jamie Foxx. The duo collaborated on the film “They Cloned Tyrone,” and at the Hollywood premiere, Boyega expressed his admiration for Foxx and discussed their recent phone conversation. Boyega revealed to PEOPLE that Foxx is doing well and that they had a warm conversation during which he conveyed his best wishes to his friend and co-star. Boyega emphasized the importance of giving Foxx privacy during his recovery process and expressed his anticipation for Foxx’s return. The actor extended his support, saying, “Take your time, Jamie. We love you, bro.”

Datari Turner, who co-produced “They Cloned Tyrone” alongside Foxx, also provided an update on Foxx’s condition, assuring fans that the acclaimed actor is doing amazing. Turner shared that Foxx is in good shape and spirits, highlighting that Foxx had spoken to director Juel Taylor and Boyega recently. He assured everyone that Foxx would be back on the screen and ready to work soon.

“I’ve been calling, I’m just gonna keep on calling. He better pick up. Come on Jamie!” the Star Wars actor told Entertainment Tonight, adding, “I know he’s dealing with what he’s dealing with, and we just wish him all the best.”

Another of Foxx’s costars, Teyonah Parris, also told the outlet that she wished him “all the recovery and healing” at the event, noting that “it was just such an honor to work with him.”

“He’s so generous as an actor and as a human, along with John. I got lucky to be able to work with such dope men on this project, and dope men of color, that it was just so much fun,” said Parris, 35, noting that the “lively” Foxx brought “such an energy to the set.”

“We would never work. We all just had fun laughing and partying,” she added.

Last week, Boyega expressed his concern for Foxx’s well-being at the movie’s premiere during the American Black Film Festival in Miami Beach, Florida. He mentioned repeatedly trying to contact Foxx and urged him to answer his calls, emphasizing the importance of Foxx’s recovery and wishing him all the best.

Teyonah Parris, another co-star of Foxx’s in “They Cloned Tyrone,” also extended her support and well wishes to the actor. Parris expressed her admiration for Foxx’s talent and generosity, describing him as an exceptional actor and an incredible human being. She considered herself fortunate to have worked with Foxx and Boyega on the project, emphasizing the fun and energetic atmosphere Foxx brought to the set.

“They Cloned Tyrone” marks Foxx’s second film release since his health setback, following the recent release of “God Is a Bullet” in select theaters. His daughter, Corinne Foxx, previously shared on Instagram that her father had been out of the hospital for weeks and was recuperating. Although specific details about Foxx’s health were not disclosed, his daughter’s update provided reassurance to fans.

In May, Foxx expressed his gratitude for the support and well wishes he received from his fans through a social media post. The Oscar-winning actor thanked everyone for their love and blessings during his recovery.
