WWE Quietly Release Star After SmackDown?

WWE might have released Eric Young who could soon make his return to IMPACT Wrestling. During the latest edition of IMPACT Wrestling on AXS TV, a segment featuring Scott D’Amore caught the attention of viewers.

D’Amore dropped hints at the return of a significant figure from his past, who would be teaming up with him for the upcoming Slammiversary pay-per-view event. Their opponents will be Bully Ray and Deaner, and former NHL star Darren McCarthy (formerly of the Detroit Red Wings and Calgary Flames) will serve as the special enforcer.

PW Insider reported that Eric Young was spotted at the Detroit airport, which indicates that he could possibly be D’Amore’s mystery partner.

Eric Young had returned to WWE last year to work as a Producer. Things have seemingly changed for Eric Young. During his time in WWE, Young was the leader of the popular SAnitY faction in NXT which was comprised of himself, Nikki Cross, Alexander Wolfe, and Killian Dain. The stable was never made it to the main roster. However, Nikki Cross is the only member of the group who still appears on WWE television.

Eric Young announced in May that a “big change” was coming shortly. The 43-year-old posted an interesting image earlier this year on social media. He took to Twitter to share a photograph of an empty document and a cigar. Young noted that a big change is coming and he will see his fans real soon.

“Time to work!!!! When the world hands you lemons…… we’ll you know the rest! See you all again real soon! BIG CHANGE COMING!!!,” he tweeted.
