In a recent interview with Megyn Kelly, Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of former President Donald Trump, revealed that he believes he is on a blacklist and hasn’t appeared on Fox News in nearly a year. The interview covered various conservative talking points, including topics like Hunter Biden, a baggie of cocaine found in the White House, a potential third indictment against his father, and more lighthearted subjects like country singer Jason Aldean and the film “The Sound of Freedom.”
When Kelly asked if he had been kicked off of Fox News, Trump Jr. responded matter-of-factly, stating that he assumes he is on the blacklist. He recalled that his last appearance on the network was around August of the previous year, and since then, he has not been invited back.
“Are you kicked off of Fox News?” Kelly asked in a short clip posted to her “Megyn Kelly Show” YouTube channel.
“I assume so,” Trump responded. “I’ve been told that I’m on the blacklist. The last time I was on I think was like August, so almost a year ago.”
During that last appearance, Trump Jr. mentioned that his father had not officially announced his candidacy for the 2024 election. He humorously shared how a poll showed him polling second or third in a hypothetical race against his father, which he jokingly hoped his father wouldn’t see to avoid any awkwardness. It was after that appearance that he noticed a change in his relationship with Fox News.
Trump Jr. suggested that Fox News has certain mandates and decisions in place, which influence their choice of guests and control the narrative they want to present. He speculated that the network may have been favoring alternative candidates to his father, like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, at that time. However, he also noted that Fox News appears to be transitioning away from that narrative as they see the inevitability of his father’s potential candidacy for the 2024 election.
He further commented on Fox News’s desire for access to power in the political process, which he believes is a significant factor in their decision-making.
