Trump Failed To Pay His Famous Lawyers

According to Mediate, he legal saga surrounding the 2020 election lies and the involvement of attorneys like Rudy Giuliani has taken a surprising turn as it’s revealed that these lawyers were never compensated by Donald Trump for their post-election efforts. Despite a reported “handshake agreement” between Trump and Giuliani’s team that allegedly promised them $20,000 a day for their services, the attorneys named in the Georgia indictment for pushing false claims about the election received no payment from Trump.

Brian Schwartz of CNBC delved into this startling revelation, drawing upon Federal Election Commission records and testimony from the Jan. 6 House select committee hearings. The report highlights the significant legal and public relations work undertaken by Giuliani and his team, including filing numerous lawsuits aimed at overturning the election results that ultimately proved fruitless.

Sidney Powell, Kenneth Chesebro, and John Eastman, along with Giuliani, found themselves unpaid for their efforts in promoting the baseless claims surrounding the election. To compound the situation, the report details that the Trump campaign profited to the tune of $250 million in donor funds due to the attorneys’ work on these claims. The funds raised are now reportedly being used to defend Trump against various criminal cases he is facing.

The revelation of unpaid services takes on added significance due to the indictment filed in Georgia, in which Giuliani is a co-defendant alongside Trump and 17 others. This indictment outlines the extent of Giuliani’s involvement, detailing his trips, phone calls, and meetings as part of what prosecutors allege was a criminal conspiracy to overturn the election.

Trump has a long history of not paying his bills. But the revelation that he likely stiffed Giuliani, a longtime friend, is all the more striking given that much of the work Giuliani did for the Trump operation is detailed in a sprawling RICO indictment in Georgia released Monday, in which Giuliani is a co-defendant alongside Trump and 17 other people.

The indictment details trips Giuliani made, phone calls he placed and meetings he attended, all in service of what prosecutors say was a criminal conspiracy to overturn the election.

Criminal or not, what is indisputable is that Giuliani and his team did a lot of legal and PR work for Trump. Over more than two months, Giuliani served as the public face of Trump’s election challenges, which ultimately failed.

The story underscores the complexities of legal representation, political maneuvering, and the financial intricacies within the realm of high-stakes legal battles. The fact that prominent attorneys dedicated significant time and resources to advancing Trump’s election challenges without receiving the expected compensation adds a layer of intrigue to an already convoluted narrative. As the legal battles surrounding the 2020 election continue to unfold, this development serves as a reminder of the multifaceted dimensions that shape these high-profile cases.
