WWE Let Ex-World Champion Sign With AEW?

PWTorch.com report that Edge presented to WWE what it would take to retain his services, but WWE declined to meet his request.

This has sparked a belief within WWE that he is probably headed to AEW and knew at that time what AEW could offer him.

WWE fans are thrilled as John Cena is gearing up for his return to the company.

Cena will return for the September 1st edition of WWE SmackDown, scheduled to be held in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Furthermore. He will also be featured in WWE Superstar Spectacle on September 8th, at the G. M. C. Balayogi Indoor Stadium, in the Hyderabad suburb of Gachibowli, India.

John Cena’s return to WWE is always exciting. Only time will tell if this results in Cena having a couple more matches this time around, but he also can’t risk his health. The pro wrestling ring can be a very unpredictable place, after all.

Ringside News reported that they reached out to ask about John Cena’s WWE return, and how long this has been planned.

“We were told by a tenured member of the team that, “Cena has been discussing a return since the SAG strike.””

Currently, one of the biggest stars in WWE, Cody Rhodes is seemingly interested to have a match with John Cena. To promote the American Nightmare: Becoming Cody Rhodes documentary on Peacock, Cody did an AMA (ask me anything) session on Reddit where he answered many questions. One person asked him if he was going to wrestle John Cena.

He responded by saying that he has asked the latter for a match, but if it doesn’t happen, he still appreciates being under Cena’s learning tree and sharing a ring with him in the past.

“I asked John if he does one more… to consider that match. If not though, I’m blessed to have been under his learning tree and shared a ring with him in the past,” wrote Rhodes.
