The aftermath of the altercation between CM Punk and Jack Perry at AEW All In has taken a new turn, as reports suggest that Punk’s anger extended beyond Perry to AEW President Tony Khan.

According to a report from PWTorch, CM Punk engaged in a “heated” and “intense” confrontation with Tony Khan backstage in the gorilla position at AEW All In. The report indicates that Punk expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation, leading to a confrontation that was characterized as intense. This encounter reportedly continued later in Punk’s locker room. This is believed to be the point where Punk threatened to quit AEW, which had been previously reported. This threat potentially jeopardized Punk’s scheduled match with Samoa Joe, which was set to be the opening match of the event.

After the confrontation with Tony Khan, there was reportedly a noticeable period of communication breakdown between Punk and Khan. This was deemed unusual, as they had previously maintained contact via text after incidents in the past. While the report couldn’t confirm any subsequent communication between the two parties, Nick Hausman from Haus of Wrestling noted that Punk had been informed of his suspension, likely not directly from Khan.

The initial confrontation between Punk and Perry began with a verbal exchange that escalated into a physical altercation. This occurred after Perry made a comment on the “Zero Hour” preshow about using “real glass” in his match against HOOK. This comment appeared to reference a past argument with Punk about using real glass, reigniting their past disagreement. Following Perry’s match, Punk reportedly stormed to the gorilla position and confronted both Tony Khan and Perry. The altercation escalated further from there.

Additional reports suggest that Punk’s All In opponent, Samoa Joe, played a role in diffusing the situation. He reportedly intervened and convinced Punk to move forward with their scheduled match, despite the intense backstage altercation.
