On an early Wednesday morning, Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of former President Donald Trump, found his social media account on the platform formerly known as Twitter in a state of apparent hacking. This unexpected intrusion into his online presence led to a series of shocking and false statements being broadcast from his compromised account.
One of the most alarming posts from the hacked account falsely declared that Donald Trump Sr., the former president, had passed away. The false message went on to assert that Donald Trump Jr. would be entering the presidential race in 2024, an assertion that was swiftly debunked when the former president himself later posted an unrelated message on Truth Social, a platform known for its affiliation with Trump and his supporters. The misleading announcement regarding the former president’s demise caused a brief stir on social media and drew widespread attention.
However, this was just one facet of the online attack. The hackers behind the breach also posted a series of offensive and inappropriate tweets from Donald Trump Jr.’s account. Among the offensive content was the use of a racial epithet, as well as inflammatory statements about international affairs and domestic regulatory bodies. One tweet brazenly declared, “When I become president I’m going to burn the SEC,” in reference to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
The incident did not go unnoticed by Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr.’s brother, who took to Twitter with a touch of humor amidst the chaos. He facetiously inquired about the password used to protect his sibling’s account, highlighting the absurdity of the situation.
Thankfully, the compromised tweets from Donald Trump Jr.’s account began to disappear by 9:45 a.m. ET. A spokesperson for the former president, Andrew Surabian, confirmed on Twitter that Don Jr.’s account had indeed been hacked, alleviating concerns about his sudden political aspirations and his father’s well-being.
Donald Trump Jr’s hacker even decided to take a shot at WWE star Logan Paul for good measure, as he claimed that he had sex with Paul’s fiance Nina Adgal.
