Upon her return, Lacey Evans underwent a stunning transformation, donning a camouflage jacket and hat reminiscent of the iconic Sgt. Slaughter. This seemingly innocent sartorial choice, however, triggered an unexpected altercation after Slaughter’s daughter accused Evans of pilfering her father’s distinctive style. What began as a seemingly innocuous wardrobe decision quickly escalated into a full-blown feud, with Sgt. Slaughter himself stepping into the fray.
Expressing his discontent, Sgt. Slaughter had previously voiced his belief that WWE should have sought his permission before permitting Evans to incorporate his renowned Cobra Clutch into her in-ring repertoire. The dispute raged on as Slaughter sought to bar Evans from using his signature finishing move.
During an appearance on the “Road Trip AFTER HOURS” with wrestling veterans Teddy Long and Mac Davis, Evans unleashed a scathing tirade against the WWE Hall of Famer, casting light on the tribulations she endured at the hands of Slaughter and his daughter on social media.
”I DID WHAT I WAS TOLD AND I LOOKED DAMN GOOD THE ENTIRE TIME. I’M TRYING TO GET BOOKED AT A COMIC-CON NEXT TO HIS DAUGHTER, I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A BOOTH OF MY OWN AND SHE HAD A LOT TO SAY TOO. I DON’T NEED NOBODY TO STAND UP FOR ME. WHAT BOTHERED ME WAS THE FACT THAT THEY DID TAKE IT SO LEGITIMATE ON SOCIAL MEDIA. WHERE I COME FROM AND THE WOMAN I AM, YOU BETTER STAND FIRM IN WHAT YOU SAID. SAME THING BACKSTAGE IN WWE, I STAND IN WHAT I AM AND WHAT I BELIEVE IN AND I’L BE DAMNED IF I’M GONNA SIT BACK AND LET ANYBODY LEGITIMATELY – STORYLINE IS ONE THING, BUT I’LL BE DAMNED IF YOU THINK THAT YOU CAN COME TO ME – SOCIAL MEDIA OR IN MY FACE AND I’M NOT GONNA SAY WHAT NEEDS TO BE SAID AND WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE.”
