Bernie Sanders Stops Trump Fan Senator Fight

According to Mediaite, Trump loving Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) disrupted a hearing of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, challenging Teamsters President Sean O’Brien to a fight in the hearing room. The altercation was a result of ongoing tensions between Mullin and O’Brien. The feud escalated over the summer when Mullin challenged O’Brien to an MMA fight for charity after a series of verbal exchanges.

During the hearing, Mullin read a past tweet from O’Brien and confronted him about it. O’Brien responded, expressing willingness to engage in a physical confrontation. The heated exchange continued, with both individuals taunting each other.

Senator Bernie Sanders, the committee chairman, intervened, urging them to stop and maintain decorum in the Senate hearing room. Despite Sanders’s efforts to de-escalate the situation, Mullin and O’Brien continued to exchange words, prompting Sanders to remind them of the importance of conducting themselves appropriately in a congressional hearing.

Markwayne Mullin, a Republican senator from Oklahoma, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012 and later to the U.S. Senate in 2022. Apart from his political career, Mullin had a background in mixed martial arts, winning three fights in 2006 and 2007 before entering politics.
