Jimmy Fallon Drops Sad Trump Health Bombshell

According to the New York Times, Monday, former President Donald Trump’s doctor released a statement declaring him to be in “excellent health.” The report mentioned weight loss due to an improved diet and daily physical activity, with physical and cognitive exams reported to be well within normal ranges and exceptional, respectively.

Late-night comedians seized the opportunity to inject humor into the news:

  1. Jimmy Fallon’s Take: Fallon poked fun at Trump’s purported fitness routine, quipping, “Trump’s the only guy who gets his cardio in by storming out of courtrooms.”
  2. Seth Meyers’ Commentary: Meyers added a humorous touch to the doctor’s letter, emphasizing the questionable claim about Trump’s shiny coat and being negative for heartworms.
  3. Stephen Colbert’s Quip: Colbert humorously characterized Trump as the “before” picture in terms of health.

The comedians also addressed President Biden’s recent mix-up of Taylor Swift and Britney Spears during the White House turkey pardon. Fallon jokingly suggested that Biden lost 30 million votes due to the mix-up. Meyers drew parallels between Biden’s gaffe and some of Trump’s past verbal missteps, creating a comedic narrative around political figures’ slip-ups.

Late-night hosts often use satire to provide a lighthearted take on political events, adding a comedic spin to news stories and offering satirical insights into current events.

Additionally, “Late Night” writers Jenny Hagel and Amber Ruffin surprised Seth Meyers with a twist on the segment “Jokes Seth Can’t Tell,” showcasing a refreshing comedic perspective.
