Donald Trump’s buddy Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has indicated that he has yet to see a “smoking gun” that would prompt the House to move forward with an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. In an interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker on Meet the Press, Graham addressed the House’s vote to initiate an inquiry into allegations that Biden corruptly benefited from an influence peddling scheme related to his family’s foreign business activities.
When asked about his stance on the issue and if he agrees with Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), who stated that he hasn’t seen evidence to prove Biden is “guilty of anything” in connection with his son Hunter, Graham responded, “I haven’t really been paying that much attention to it.” He emphasized that the burden of proof lies in demonstrating that President Biden financially benefited from Hunter Biden’s business enterprises.
Welker pressed further, asking if the evidence had been presented in Graham’s mind. Graham replied, “If there were a smoking gun, I think we’d be talking about it.”
Graham also mentioned that the narrative presented by Hunter Biden is falling apart, with added claims that Joe Biden was unaware of the business dealings. However, he expressed that he is not currently concerned about impeaching the president.
