Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy expressed confidence in receiving former President Donald Trump’s full endorsement if he secures the Republican nomination for the 2024 presidential race. In an interview on Fox News’ Jesse Watters Primetime with host Kayleigh McEnany, the discussion touched upon Trump’s reaction to Ramaswamy’s decision to halt spending on TV ads.
McEnany quoted Trump’s statement on Truth Social, where he expressed his expectation of receiving an endorsement and acknowledged Ramaswamy as a “good man” who is not finished yet. McEnany then asked if, in the absence of a Plan B, Ramaswamy would consider Trump’s endorsement at the right moment. Ramaswamy responded affirmatively, stating:
“I’ve been clear. Look, if Trump is the nominee, he has my full support and backing all the way, just as I expect his if I’m the nominee.”
Ramaswamy went on to express his belief that his campaign would deliver a significant surprise in Iowa, emphasizing that many of his supporters, particularly those not reflected in polls, could make an impact. He highlighted a diverse base, including non-traditional caucus goers, young voters, and America First conservatives with a variety of political backgrounds.
Addressing the broader perspective, Ramaswamy stressed the importance of having an America First candidate at the forefront of the movement and conveyed his confidence in his ability to connect with the next generation as a young candidate. He concluded optimistically, stating, “That’s why I’m gonna see this all the way through, and I think we’re gonna win.”
According to RealClearPolitics’ Republican primary poll average, Ramaswamy is currently in fourth place at 4%, trailing behind Nikki Haley, Ron DeSantis, and the frontrunner, Donald Trump.
